Hollywood is at it again. Kim Kardashian filed for divorce on Monday after only 72 days of marriage.
Things longer than Kim K’s marriage: her engagement — clocked in at a whopping 85 days, the run time of her wedding special on E!, and the average gestational period for a pig.
I have to congratulate Kardashian on being the latest celebrity to completely defile the institution of marriage. Perhaps I didn’t pay close enough attention while watching the TV special of her $10 million wedding, but I don’t remember her vows including “until I don’t feel like being married to you anymore.”
According to reports online, she didn’t even have the common courtesy to inform her soon-to-be ex-husband of her decision herself. Kris Humphries has been quoted saying he was blind-sided by the whole thing and that he found out online like everyone else.

So now the questions are all about who will get what in the divorce and what should they do with the wedding gifts. The most important question is what will happen with her $2 million 20-karat engagement ring.
Honestly, I hope she gives it back to him. She sure as hell doesn’t deserve it. But like everything with celebrities, no one will force her to face the consequences of her decision.
Every time a celebrity makes a circus out of marriage, I think people lose respect for what marriage is really supposed to be about. Can Kim K. say that her marriage to Humphries was about how much she loved him and wanting to spend the rest of her life with him?
I’d believe that about as much as I’d believe that Britney Spears’ 55-hour marriage to Jason Alexander was all about how much they loved each other or that Lindsay Lohan is actually going to complete her community service this time around.
The whole sham seemed doomed from the start. Kardashian was letting her mother, Kris Jenner, make all of her decisions.
Kardashian is also a repeat offender, having divorced from her first husband, music producer Devon Thomas, after 4 years of marriage. Kim K. seems like she could end up a bailout bride forever.
Don’t worry Kimmy, the gifts are still returnable and you ended up making enough money from this fiasco to make up for all your pain and suffering during this awful time.
