Expectations:
* Responsible for production of steel that is utilized by customers in a wide range of products that directly impact lives around the world, including automotive, heavy machinery, agricultural, and defense applications, among others
* Lead hourly workforce teams, including training employees, setting expectations, monitoring performance, and holding employees accountable for their performance
* Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
* Communicate expectations, identify coaching opportunities and engage employees to improve performance
* Delegate tasks, set deadlines, and then meet those deadlines
* Administer collective bargaining agreements, develop relationships with employees to motivate and drive success
* Ensure safety of operations to provide every employee with a clear path home
* Ensure employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies and procedures.
* Seek out, propose and implement improvement opportunities
* Present positive solutions to organizational challenges
* Challenge the status quo to develop improved processes and procedures
* Initiate and carry out efficiency initiatives, control costs
* May work rotating and / or second or third shift
Qualifications/Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. Mechanical or Electrical strongly preferred.
* Problem solver: Must enjoy being challenged on a daily basis
* Self-starter: Must be internally motivated to succeed
* Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills to build relationships
* Listener: Able to gather information to inform direction and the decision making process
