Job Title: Youth Care Professional Department: Residential Treatment
Gateway Longview's Residential Treatment Services is a therapeutic intervention for youth ages 12-18 and supports them in developing the skills needed to successfully live with their families or in the community.

Primary Responsibilities
+ Actively engage with youth in therapeutic and daily activities
+ Council youth in matters of personal conduct, hygiene, appearance, safety, social skills, academics, and decision making
+ Proactively prevent or manage a crisis situation in a therapeutic manner
+ Transport youth to medical appointments, family visits, and community activities
+ Attend required staff, supervisory meetings, and treatment team meetings
+ Fulfill other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
+ Ability to build rapport with youth based on healthy boundaries, effective communication and mutual respect
+ Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, compassion, patience, and active listening
+ Ability to effectively work with individuals from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds, beliefs, customs, and lifestyles
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Current NYS Driver's License
+ Ability to physically restrain if required
Preferred Qualifications
+ Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Theology, Social Work
+ Demonstrated experience working with youth in professional or volunteer capacity
