If you are not a math major and are just looking for a great grade, do not take a class with him. If you are a math major, you will learn a crazy amount of math but you will have to work very difficult. I friendly of miss having courses with him.
Dr. Friedland is a very friendly person. I do have to admit that its not the easiest class because your grade is based only on the 4 exams. The exams are not the easiest ones either. he is very accommodating. recommended
Terrible teacher. The exams are only like 4 questions each and make up the entirety of your grade so if you get one question wrong there's 5% of your total grade. Plus he exams on material that he doesn't cover in class or with homework. And he blocks what he's writing on the board so the right half of the class can't see it
Dr. Friedland is easily one of my favorite prof.s at Geneseo. His examples are always clear and he leads you through the problems step-by-step. In addition, he's absolutely hilarious! Yes, the class is difficult and you WILL have to work for your A, but if you go to class and pay attention, Dr. Friedland makes things clear and gives GREAT notes.
Terrible teacher, All he does is stand at the chalkboard and write math problems, he is very unaccommodating in office hours. The exams are also very difficult and unimpartial, no partial credit or leway on anything. Worst teacher i have ever had
He definitely knows what he's talking about, but he doesn;t explain it, just writes problem after problem. He's so intelligent that he expects the class to get the material when he skips steps and rarely goes over the homework. The exams are difficult and not based on the homework. He expects you to know what to do on the exam and it's things you never learn.
Absolutely terrible teacher. Paying attention in class, doing all the homeworks, and studying like crazy will get you an 80 if you're lucky. His exams are the entire course, and each is only 4 questions long. He's also about as simple to listen to as nails on a blackboard. Don't take Calc III with him, even if you have no choice. |
