take this class! you are a complete moron if you fail any of his tests because he goes over all info needed for tests and tells you exactly what is on the mid year exam and final hes a great teacher and makes going to class not torture
Great teacher, goes over everything before the final and mid year exams so it is simple to make a study guide.
Herman is a great teacher! He makes theater fun and is very straightforward with the information that you need whether it be on a "pop quiz" or mid year exam/final. Definitely attend class for the notes (he likes to add extra info. not on the powerpoints). Pretty simple and extra credit is enjoyable! Note there is a mandatory show to attend.
Covers everything in class, even all the important points in the plays so you don't need to ready them. Just can't skip class, there are two "pop tests" at "anytime" (he warns you about a week in advance). simple class and there's even up to 10% extra credit.
Very straightforward, very accommodating. Gives you up to 10% extra credit for going to shows. If you don't do well in this class there may be something wrong with you
Don't bother buying either book. He literally sits everyone down the class before an exam and says "If we don't go over it in class today, you will not see it on the exam." So go to the review courses and learn what he tells you to. impartially self-centered but a great guy and prof..
Michael is a chill guy and I learned quite a bit of the basics about theater. It isn't really necessary to get the books if you attend the lecture. He gives great notes and his tests/exams are directly from his notes and what he says in class. I would definitely recommend taking a class with him.
simple class - Everything you need to know is covered in class. I wish I didn't buy the books because their content wasn't examed (except for the plays). The required attendance to the shows wasn't too bad. Overall a decent prof., I'd recommend him for sure.
Michael knows a lot about theatre. He owns his own theatre company and can relate real-life examples back to you. Starts every class with movie clips that have nothing to do with theatre. Usually tells you when "pop" tests are, and explains what's going to be on exams. However, he doesn't cover everything, so look over your notes. great guy
Amazing guy, and very accommodating. If you have a chance to have a class with this guy, TAKE IT! You will not regret it :)
He knows what he's teaching but I disliked how he gave pop tests. I missed one and it screwed up my grade. His exams and final wasn't that bad though. all multiple choice. I'd rather take another class for a fine arts core.
If you're taking this class for an simple A, don't do it. He gives pop tests that totally screwed up my grade. If you're the friendly of person that does well hearing something in class and can recall it 30 minutes later, you'll be fine. But if you're like me and actually have to study for things, great luck. Overall, not a bad class.
The class is simple, but he only posts half the slides in class online, making studying bumpy and needlessly irritating
Easily the great teacher and great class I have ever taken! He is friendly and hillarious, and always willing to help you. His quizes are a little tricky, but the exams are really simple (he tells you exactly what will be on the exam in a review class).I never read a page of the books and got an A+ in his class. If you need a fine arts class and can take him, DO
Such a genuine guy. Knows what he's talking about.. he owns a theatre company so while you learn the dull things you get the personable side of things from his perspective too. Quizes are friendlya random & really specific to readings.. exams are really simple. Young, friendly, enthusiastic guy that makes theatre fun even for the uninterested student |
