This class is way different then expected, and was going to immediately drop it if it wasn't how fascinating and intelligent McLaughlin was. I took this class because he's such an AMAZING prof.. I learned more in my entire career. difficult if you don't understand but worth it. A plus in my book. Thank you prof.. |

He's a great guy, but the class is very dull. He gives pop tests 3 times a semester, but it's up to 8 extra points on your overall GPA (motivation to attend!). The entire grade is based on exams, but he is a generous grader and an even friendlyr guy. Also, the books are a dull read. Not the funnest class, but McLaughlin is fine. |

McLaughlin is a great prof.. He sets a date in which students turn in drafts of their papers. Its not mandatory, but very accommodating. He will actually look through it and give you feedback. I honestly say I learned in his class, and I can't say that about many prof.s. |

TAKE this prof.. Paul is one of the friendlyest and most fascinating teachers i have ever had. if you actually do his work and are interested in the class the exams are really quite simple. he shows you fascinating ways of thinking about the world and allows you to expand on important concepts |

DO NOT take a class with him. He makes a simple 100 level class unnecessarily difficult, dull, and frustrating. He forces his opinions on you and argues with his students. He actually aims to piss you off. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I went to every class and killed myself for a B...trust me, don't take McLaughlin. Go with Wahlstrom, or any other prof. |
