Challenging and effective prof.. I enjoy reading comments from people who believe they should get an 'A' because they need it. To get an 'A' you have to know the material. It's that simple. The fact that you think you need an 'A' to get into med school and you tried difficult is and should be irrelevant. This is not friendlyergarten.
Pogo is a really hillarious guy. He can be pretty rough, but if you get to know him well enough and can laugh at yourself, his comments will start to seem more humorous than hurtful. He's also - surprisingly - pretty great at admitting when he messed up during courses. More humble than he might seem and he keeps class fascinating
General I. difficult and rather rude. He does teach the material but it is much difficulter than it needs to be, physics majors from other schools had no idea what we were doing. Large curve however. Very rude if you go to him for help. If you need an A avoid him, he beleves grades are meaningless, tell that to anyone in med school and they'll die laughing.
This teacher will tear you down and make you feel terrible about yourself. The concept of you learning things from him makes no sense to him. You are expected to automatically understand everything about everything. If you are a physics major reading this then chances are you don't have a choice about what courses you can take so great luck.
Definitely an engineer, so if you want to be an engineer, great. Otherwise, he does things that no self respecting physicist would ever do, such as using pencil in a lab notebook. Isn't accommodating and can be rather condescending.
Do you do your homework? Can you read a textbook? Are you resourceful? If you cannot say yes to any of these questions, you'll run into some difficulty.
One of the difficulter courses. I felt like I knew the things but the exams were brutal! Pogo makes you feel stupid any chance he gets. He is not accommodating when you go to ask him questions, and most of the time he's rude. He's a fun and great guy (if you're not in his class). I've heard Dr. Marcus is easier :)
difficult class. Do well on the homework and tests because your exams will be murder (I found doing homework in a group to be accommodating). Pogo is a fun and engaging teacher, but he has impartially rigid ideas of what makes a great or bad student. Expect to be scolded at least once in the semester as a class for being bad students. |
