Soffer is a great prof.. Yes, the material for the class is very difficult, but since HUMN is required for everyone-- each section of HUMN will be difficult. Soffer is from the philosophy department-- don't forget that when in his class. He is clear, impartial, and very accommodating outside of class. GO TO CLASS. He's great
This was the difficulexam class I've taken at Geneseo. He is able to spent a months worth of courses on 30 pages of text, and is terrible at explaining in a clear way. I never had any idea what he was saying. Also, if you don't write your papers/papers from his perspective or agree with his points, he'll mark you wrong. Never take him.
Really great prof.. For everyone complaining about HUM, its the same everywhere you go. His courses are straightforward, hes got a sense of humor, knows what hes talking about. HUM is all about going to class and taking notes, his exams are literally his courses in question form. Just go to class- its not that bad and there are zero suprises
I am so glad I am done with humanities so I don't have his class. Class is a waste of time and absolutely dull. Goes on rants and you don't feel like you go anywhere in class. Do NOT TAKE for Hum!
Such a great prof.. Knows a ton, gives careful courses, has hilariously dry wit and a sweet goatee.
OMG, do NOT take him for Humanities. His papers were nearly impossible, exams very difficult... I went to almost every single class, read all the works, took impeccible notes, and still struggled with the concepts. I did not enjoy my experience with this prof. and I advise anyone to pick else to do your HUMN core with. |
