I teach because I really enjoy the subject and the interaction with students, not because it's my job. I have taught and tutored at the community college level since the 1990s and have achieved a great deal of success in both the classroom and the laboratory as indicated through student assessment and student course section selection. I am well respected by my colleagues for my willingness to be "student friendly" while maintaining the course quality expected by the academic institution.
