Don't let big bye weeks fool you

Week 7 of the fantasy football season is a tough one for all fantasy owners.
Between bye weeks and injuries, dilemmas for fantasy owners are present on a weekly
basis.
Depending on where your team is in the standings, it's win now or be on the outside
looking in at the halfway point of the season. A trade with another owner is always a
possibility because a quick fix might not always be on the waiver wire depending on the
size of the league you play in.
Atlanta, Denver, Kansas City, Miami, Philadelphia and San Diego are all on byes this
week, making this one of the biggest bye weeks of the season. Players like Matt Ryan,
Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers, Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy, Roddy White, Tony
Gonzalez, and Jamaal Charles need to be replaced.
To make the week easier on you, cut any dead weight you feel won't help you from this
point on.
We're at a crucial spot in the season and it's too late to wait for players like Randy Moss
in San Francisco. His numbers are pedestrian. He's a third string wide receiver at best.
Forget the name and forget his past - move on from him.
Lions' running back Kevin Smith is another player to move on from. He was a healthy
scratch last week against the Eagles and with the emergence of Mikel Leshoure and the
possible return of Jahvid Best, Smith is worth nothing in terms of fantasy play. Drop him.
Saints' speedster Devery Henderson is another player that you should stop waiting
for. He may catch a couple deep balls a year but every season he's picked up after a
decent game. He only started against the Chargers in week 5 because of the injury to
Lance Moore. When the Saints are healthy, Henderson is a non-factor. Make a move on
another player as he will not help you to a fantasy championship.
Players to add this week include Matt Hasselbeck of the Titans. He's coming off his big
win last Thursday night versus the Steelers and the Bills are his opponent this week.
Kenny Britt is healthy now and Chris Johnson is playing better so he could have a big
week against an unpredictable Bills defense.
Colts' running back Vick Ballard could be the bandage your fantasy team needs in wake
of Donald Brown's injury. If he's available and you need a starting running back then
look no further than Ballard. He can at least give you some garbage points filling in for a
bye week replacement player or into a flex spot you might have.
Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike Williams is another player who is floating around the
waiver wire. He's coming off an over 100-yard game against the Chiefs last week and
Josh Freeman is throwing the ball his way when Vincent Jackson has been double
covered. Get to the wire this week and help your team.
Randall Cobb in Green Bay will remain relevant as long as Greg Jennings remains
out. He had over 100 yards receiving last week against Houston. Let's not forget who
his quarterback is - Mr. "discount double check," Aaron Rodgers. Add Cobb if he's
available in your league.
Finally, we have Cowboys' running back Felix Jones. The former first-round pick should
start this week with the news that DeMarco Murray is injured. Murray dodged a long-
term injury but Jones should be a great add this week with the Cowboys playing the
Panthers in a favorable game for Jones and the Cowboys.
Remember, it's not too late to fix your team. The strong fantasy players will separate
themselves from the weaker ones. So take a stand before it's too late because fantasy
football will be over just as fast as it started.
