Drake is a very tough grader and his courses are somewhat incomprehensible. Before this class I was very interested in the subject and open to discussing it, but his courses completely negated that. It was a chore and a punishment to simply attend class. His class is more lecture style and this takes away from the topic. |

MUST GO TO CLASS. A lot of reading but that's true of any humn class. The exams are really difficult but considering there are only two and they count for so little it's not a big deal. Most of your grade comes from attendance and class discussion. The only time you need to memorize a specific date is for extra credit tests. |

He's a really friendly guy and yes, adorably awkward. He drops really great jokes. But it's true that he does expect an unreasonable about of reading and that he is very picky about some dumb things. Still, it's manageable. He gives lots of EC opportunities. I just wouldn't take it in conjunction with other stressful courses. |

He's adorably awkward, with his bow ties and sweater vests and utter enthusiasm for the subject. Very fascinating class. He drops some pretty hysterical jokes into the courses. Pretty simple essay grader so long as you do the readings and can incorporate them, but its a *lot* of reading. |

I'm an English major and cannot handle how much he assigns. You have to remember 100s of dates and he expects you to know every one. Insanely tough grader, I had the wrong time period for a completely correct answser and he gave me a zero on that question. His syllabus alone is 18 pages of nonsense things that irk him and if you miss one class... |

(I'm the last entry) ....your grade drops immensely if you miss more than one class. Stupid petty things are important to him, it's memorization he doens't want to hear what you think about anything just ridiculously difficult and unengaging and highly highly demanding. I can't say this enough really really difficult! |

Drake presents the material very clearly. The class does lots of fun, fascinating activities. He's VERY knowledgeable and accommodating, if very (charmingly) awkward on a personal level. He demands a lot of you with concern to reading, but it's worth it because you'll be learning so much. He also offers many opportunities for extra credit. |

Drake's class is pretty tough but he is a great teacher. If you are not doing well he gives lots of chances for extra credit. He is very open and friendly to students, he makes it seem like he actually wants you to do well. |
