I didn't like her that much. She just seemed super spacey. She would assign re-writes for our pieces before we had workshopped them in class, and had to re-do the syllabus a couple of times because the spent to much time on random things in class. She's obviously well-intentioned, though, and not mean at all.
Prof Faurot made Humn I a very fascinating experience. I'm a Biology major and reading books isn't my thing. However, Prof Faurot made the class very enjoyable. If you put thought and effort into her papers and study adequately for her exams, you'll be fine. She also gives ample extra credit opportunities which can significantly boost your grade!
she is very intelligent and quirky. I love how passionate she is about what she teaches. She lets you know what will be on the exams. Quiz every day but if you read or at least read sparknotes it should help your grade. She is very open to different point of views during class discussions. I wish she taught Humn 2 so I could take her again!
It is very simple to get an A in her class, as long as you're willing to put in some work. You have daily tests on the reading so, yes, you have to read. But SparkNotes is usually great enough. Plus, she posts study questions that are very accommodating. As long as you go to class, you're set for the mid year exam and final. Take Faurot!!
TAKE HER FOR HUMN1! I wish she teaches HUMN2. Straight forward simple daily tests just to make sure you read. very accommodating with your paper ideas and intro. Daily tests, 2 exams (mid year exam and final) and 2 papers. I DREADED taking this class but Faurot made it one of my all time favorites!
Class attendance is a must. She has daily attendance tests which exam if you read the text (sparknotes doesn't cover everything). Reading is recommended, be sure to at least skim it before class. Lets you email/show her your introductory paragraph for papers, and gives great feedback. Exams are impartial. Half MC, half short answer with some quotes.
She is a great prof. to have for Humn I. That said, the class is much easier if you have a background with the Christian Bible. Reading the texts is unnecessary as sparknotes contains enough information to pass the tests. A word of warning, the mid year exam and final are brutal. Very long format with limited time to do it.
You must go to her class! She has quizes basically every class and they really boost your grade. Read or atleast sparknotes. What really helps bring your grade up is all of the extra credit she gives out. Each is 1 point on your final average and I did about 6 of them got an A without actually getting an A on the exams or papers. |
