This course is straight up memorization and a load of busy work, aka not science. The course is based on how well you can memorize different rocks and the lab is long text sections from the lab manual, which is actually a $100 textbook. This is not a course to take if you're looking for something simple. It gives a terrible intro to the field. |

I personally like Amy Sheldon. She's not as bad as people are making her out to be. exams can be short and specific, but if you look over the power points and do the practice exams you should be fine. Also 20% of exams are group/open notes/open book. You don't have to read, just go to every lecture, weekly quizes |

Don't let the 100-level fool you! This class is super tough! I took it for a natural science core and I'm having trouble passing. The exams are ridiculously difficult! You can study for hours/days and still not do well. I like the lab with the TA's but lecture can be dull and really general compared to the exams/tests. Be wary of this class! |

This class was BAD. exams really really difficult. They examed 3-4 wks material with a 20ish question exam.Her lecture was to general for how specific the exam questions were. I wouldnt recomend this for the natural science requirement unless you LOVE geology. |

just don't do it . i am great at science but this class was ridiculous and pointless. i didn't try as difficult as i could have but there was still no use in taking this class. take physics or bio - get the heck away from geology and amy sheldon and laabs! |
