Doggett is a chill guy. He seems intimidating at first, but once you sit in his class you realize he's got quite the sense of humor. Expect a lot of homework! He's a tough grader, but he does want to see everyone do well. Attend the class though, most of the grades comes from responses and tests!I would take another class with him.
He really cares about what he teaches. I was always very interested in everything he said. He is passionate about English and he wants you to be also. Just make sure you really put work into what you write, I met with him before every major paper and got As on both. His TA will grade your minor response papers, but they helped boost my grade a lot.
Ok heres the deal rob's a chill guy super accommodating with anything and everything, but a VERY tough grader. He tells you class average is a C and there is a great deal of reading 50-100 pgs per class. If you do the work and pay attention you'll learn a lot but not necessarily do well.
He's a great prof., very interested in what he's teaching. Really helped me improve my essay writing in the end, but he tore my papers to shreds, no matter how many weeks in advance I worked on them.
great prof. I've ever had. Intelligent, hillarious, and eloquent. Very down to Earth. Receptive to the ideas of students. 2 papers and a final; he is somewhat of a tough grade, but provides excellent typed analyses of your work. The amount of reading was a little much, usually 80+ pages per class, but it is well worth it.
Doggett knows his subject, and is very explicit in what he expects of students. He's a tough grader, but it's simple to do well if you master the material. His classroom is political, but he presents very great reasons for teaching the way he does. Makes you very aware of teaching styles, in relation to prevalent contemporary approaches to English. |
