Rose would do ANYTHING for her students when she sees they care and are putting effort in. She always looks frazzled (because of her hair) and also because she is the head of the department and takes on more than any other prof. or department head does. She can not say no to a request and tries to help to many people because of her huge heart
She's a very great teacher. Always smiling and never singles you out for dumb mistakes. If she corrects you, it's friendlyly. She is a tough grader, so watch out. It's not simple, but I don't ever feel very stressed about it. Just study your notes because she likes to give tests.
Dr. McEwen expects a lot from you, but that is the standard for SUNY Geneseo. By far, I learned the most from her and would encourage anyone who really wants to learn to take her courses. Top notch prof. - you will learn if you work.
Very all over the place. Doesn't return papers on time. Doesn't arrive to class on time. Got the feeling she really didn't care about the class. very picky on exams. If you don't write her EXACT words for an answer she marks you wrong. The final was a gift from God which saved me and got me a B in the class.
Although she is a bit scatterbrained I learned a lot from her class that has helped me in future lit courses. She was always friendly to me and I would recommend taking a class with her as she's an important person to know in the Spanish dept. |
